Artspace Tel Aviv opened four solo exhibitions on Thursday, October 22, bringing work by Meira Tadmor, Lili Cohen Prah-ya, Rivka Gilad and Michal Shanny to Kiryat Hamelacha. For visitors planning an art outing in south Tel Aviv, the new programme offers several distinct approaches to materials and images in one gallery.

From found objects to photographs

Tadmor’s exhibition, titled “Priat Olam” in Hebrew and curated by Yakir Segev, explores making and taking apart. The gallery’s accompanying essay describes an artist collecting discarded objects, paper and photographs, then assembling, cutting and reworking them. The resulting sculptures retain traces of both processes.

The other shows are Cohen Prah-ya’s “Were It Not,” curated by Hadas Glazer; Gilad’s “Veha’ahava Hikta”; and Shanny’s “Ahiza Raka.” Time Out’s preview describes female figures on crumpled paper in Cohen Prah-ya’s work, photographs drawn from two decades of archives in Gilad’s, and analogue photography developed using caffenol in Shanny’s.

Those differences offer a useful way into the visit: compare how a physical object, a sheet of paper and a photographic image each hold traces of an artist’s work. This is a suggested approach to looking, rather than an official gallery tour.

Planning a visit

The gallery is on the third floor at 5 Shvil HaMeretz, Tel Aviv. Published hours are Wednesday and Thursday, 11am-6pm, and Friday and Saturday, 10am-2pm. The exhibitions run through November 28, 2026.

The information checked did not specify an admission price or a booking requirement for ordinary visits. Confirm these with the gallery before travelling. Visitors who need a lift or particular accessibility arrangements should also check access to the third-floor space in advance.
